This necklace is inspired by the traditional Kven well, known in Kven as vinttikaivo — a well with a long wooden lever used to lift water.
The vinttikaivo is a distinctive part of Kven cultural heritage in Northern Norway, and a familiar sight in traditional Kven settlements and farmyards.
I wanted to capture the simple, beautiful shape of the well in silver and turn a piece of local history into something you can carry with you.
Each piece is thoughtfully created by hand in my studio in Northern Norway, inspired by the nature, places and stories that mean something to me.
I work primarily with sterling silver and other carefully selected materials, creating timeless pieces designed to be worn and loved for years to come.
